The combo of cheap airlines and cheap booze make Prague a firm favourite when it comes to stag dos, but why should we let them have all the fun? As the capital of the Czech Republic, people from all around flock to the city to enjoy both the awesome nightlife and the beautiful architecture. If you’re after a hen weekend that combines culture with excitement, then Prague’s the hen destination to visit.

Affectionately known as “the city of a thousand spires”, Prague is architecturally beautiful. The bustling city squares make this a great place to enjoy a coffee in one of the many authentic Czech cafés, where you can sit and chat with your girls for hours. Remember to pack flat shoes, as you’ll feel impelled to explore the cobbled streets, where every turn brings you something fresh to discover.

Prague is a great place for a somewhat sophisticated hen weekend. Sightseeing often falls by the wayside when planning a weekend’s activities: there’s so much to fit in during your celebrations that you might not think to allocate time to wandering around and getting a feel of the place. But with Prague, its beauty lies in the exquisite architecture of the historically-rich Old Town, where you can gaze up at the clock tower. Built in 1364, tourists and locals alike have gravitated towards it in its long history, which clearly shows why Prague has become known as one of the most interesting hen destinations.

It makes a short break feel like a whole holiday, as Prague has its own unique personality that is best shown by the sheer passion felt by the locals. The abundance of national pride gives you a sense of Prague as a place to visit: they love it so much, so surely so will you. Prague Castle acts as symbol of the city: as the biggest ancient castle in the world it’s a great place to explore, and will definitely prove your hen weekend was a classy occasion when you upload the pictures!

Another reason you should consider Prague for your hen party is because of all the interesting activities it has to offer. It has some great health clubs where you can enjoy a day of pure pampering so you can combat all the stress of wedding planning. And if you’re feeling adventurous, make sure to try shooting at their gun range: not an activity you’d often think to try out in the UK! You can also explore the city by bike or by boat: relax on a riverboat cruise along the canal to see the city in its entirety (and have a glass of wine whilst you’re at it!)

And of course, no hen weekend would be complete with a good and thorough inspection of the bars and clubs. One of our personal favourites is The Beer Factory, where you can pour your own pints at the table, and every drop is marked on an electric tally on the wall – it really brings out your competitive streak, and is a lively place to get the night started. Prague specialises in local beers, but if you’re more lady than laddy, you’ll want to head to Tretters cocktail bar. This sophisticated watering hole is a great place to get tipsy in style: the classy decor mixes with the fun retro pop music playing to give this place a brilliant atmosphere. They even give cocktail making masterclasses so you and your girls can recreate the party once you get home!

Prague is a great hen destination based on its nightlife: every establishment has heart, which makes for a refreshing change from some of the vapid tourist clubs throughout Europe. One such authentic place to visit is the Duplex at Wenceslas Square, where the rooftop bar looks out at the city’s classical skyline, and has two floors of club music to dance the night away to (if you can tear yourself away from the beautiful views!) Also in the square is the Lucerna Music Bar, where you can enjoy a slightly more chilled out evening listening to jazz and blues acts. Head there on a Friday or Saturday to experience their epic 80s disco nights: a hen party staple!

You should choose Prague for your hen weekend as it’s got everything: cheap drinks, interesting experiences, exciting things to do, beautiful architecture, and an amazing variety when it comes to nightlife. It offers an ideal mix of classiness with debauchery, so you know your girls will go home with some brilliant memories of the things you’ve done and seen that they’ve never before experienced. There’s so much to explore that will provide you with some brilliant photos to show off to your friends and family back home, and most of all, it’s a city that will make sure your days are exciting as your nights.
