Can you imagine what it would be like to have one of the most famous men on the planet turn up at your wedding?

Unless you’re Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, who’s upcoming nuptials have been causing a media frenzy for the last few months, your wedding guest list won’t include too many famous names.

But earlier this month none other than Prince Charles turned up uninvited to the wedding of Private Barry and Kirstie Rooney as they tied the knot in a civil ceremony at Ayr Town Hall. The prince was in town for a military parade when he spotted the newlyweds and congratulated them.

However, Prince Charles is not the first celebrity to cause a stir and crash the wedding of one of us normal folk. A few of them have even decided to make an appearance at our hen and stag dos. Here’s the top celebrities who we wouldn’t mind turning up uninvited at our hen or stag weekends or boogying on the dancefloor with our nan at our wedding.

Brad Pitt crashed the wedding of Abi and Daniel Ling in Buckinghamshire in 2003.The silver screen heartthrob was staying in the same hotel and posed for a photo with the lucky pair.

Queen Elizabeth II popped in to say hello at the wedding of John and Frances Canning in Manchester in 2012. The couple had invited the Queen to their wedding when they heard she would be in town as part of her Diamond Jubilee Tour but heard nothing, until her majesty dropped by unannounced to give her congratulations.

Robert Pattinson and Katy Perry gatecrashed the wedding rehearsal of a couple at the San Ysidro Ranch hotel in Montecito, Calif in 2012 after rumours that the pair were dating.

John Travolta bumped into a couple in a bar in Georgia the night before the wedding, where they invited him to the nuptials the next day. He happily obliged but turned up in jeans and a T Shirt to pose for photos with the wedding party.

Gary Barlow turned up to the wedding of couple Louise Newman and Mark Francis to serenade them after seeing a twitter campaign by the maid of honour and a banner with the hashtag #getgary2louswedding. He kept his appearance a complete surprise until the big day.

Gerard Butler gatecrashed a hen party in Sydney Harbour by waiting onboard a yacht they had hired for the day. We think that’s much better than a stripper.

Katy Perry (again). The popstar made an appearance at London nightclub Mahiki during the hen party celebrations of one lucky bride in 2013.
