With Manchester being one of the top destinations of the north, there’s plenty to see and do there however, its music that the city prides itself on.
During the 1980s and 1990s, the city developed its own music scene – “Madchester” brought on by big bands like Stone Roses, New Order and Happy Mondays which mixed alternative rock, pyschedelic rock and dance. The famous Hacienda club assisted this movement putting on some of the best gigs in Manchesters musical history.
The effect of Madchester has stayed in the city with hundreds of clubs and specific nights put on which makes Manchester one of the most exciting cities to visit for a hen or stag do. Have a look here for a selection of the best;

The Warehouse Project
One of the biggest club nights in Manchester, this club is located under Picadilly train station and has housed some of the biggest names in the city. They have put on everything from drum and bass to house to indie music with names like De La Soul, David Guetta and Groove Armada.
The Deaf Institute
This is a venue worth checking out just for it’s decor and atmosphere with its high ceiling, skylights and red and black theme. Above the main room is a glass balcony which gives a good view of the dance floor and the largest mirror ball in Manchester! Music wise, this is for lovers of live music gigs.
Situated in the Northern Quarter of Manchester, this club is perfectly located so that you can get there easily after having a few drinks in the bars nearby. This is one for the guys on a stag do in Manchester as there’s multiple pool tables plus, live local and international DJ’s on till the early hours.
If electronic music is your thing then this is the venue to hear it. Voted the number one spot in DJ MAG’s “Top 100 Clubs” in 2010, Sankeys has put on top DJ’s in the past including Daft Punk and The Chemical Brothers.
