Zac Efron got tongues wagging at the MTV 2104 in the Los Angeles Nokia theatre last night .

The A-list actor was stripped down to his bare chest by Rita Ora when he took to the stage to collect his award for Best Shirtless Performance in That Awkward Moment.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire was the big winner on the night.

The blockbuster sequel scooped three top awards, taking home Golden Popcorns for Best Movie as well as Best Female and Male Performances for stars Josh Hutcherson and Jennifer Lawrence.

Will Poulter, Jennifer Aniston and Emma Roberts picked up the coveted Best Kiss gong for their three-way smacker We’re The Millers.

Jen-An was a no-show at the bash, but Poulter revealed that she had texted him  message after finding out they had won the accolade.

Reading out the text on stage, he quoted: “I’m watching this on TV. Stop telling people we’re a real thing. I was forced to kiss you and I didn’t come tonight as I thought I’d have to come near you again and it’s probably best you stay in England.”

He jokingly told the audience that Aniston signed off with: “P.S. You look like a dorky Tintin.”
