Lisbon is not only one of sunniest in Europe, the temperature rarely dropping below 15c, but it is also one of the safest. The city boasts a wonderful mixture of tradition and a cosmopolitan “buzz”, where you feel at ease wandering the streets day and night sightseeing or shopping til you drop!
Eating out is very reasonable and the local cuisine is both healthy and tasty. Portugal is famous for its seafood and you will find octopus, sardines and bream on most menus. Try “bacalhau” cooked a variety of ways or another Portuguese favourite pork with clams. If that’s not to your your taste your party will find restaurants from all over the World happy to accommodate you with some particularly good Italian and Chinese options.
Portugal also produces some excellent wines, affordable and “homegrown”. Wine tasting is a popular day trip and of course you will want to sample the countries famous port.
Most Europeans start their night with a long and late dinner, followed by bar hopping before hitting the clubs after 1am, so although the clubs don’t get going until the early hours they are well worth it… The nightlife has a cool vibe and music for every choice, with cozy artistic venues or rooftop cocktails to get the night started.
