‘Do it for Denmark’ is the slogan for a new travel campaign where holidayers are encouraged to go on holiday and have sex in a bid to replenish Denmark’s falling birth rate.Danish travel company, Spies Resjer, have playfully asked couples to save the population and make babies, with the incentive of an ‘ovulation discount,’ where couples will receive a special discount if they are ovulating on any romantic break booked with the travel company. In addition, the Danes have raised the stakes by giving couples who can prove that their baby was conceived during their holiday a prize of baby stuff and a free family holiday.
Now there’s a romantic thought.
The hilarious ‘Do it for ‘Denmark’ campaign has come at a time of a dramatic fall in Denmark’s younger population, and Spies Resjer have reasoned that as ‘Danes have 46% more sex on holiday than in their daily life,’ this may just be the answer to all of Denmark’s problems.
We agree that there is something about escaping the stress of daily life and the excitement of being in unfamiliar places with your partner does get the blood pumping and the libido racing. There’s also something far sexier that we can’t quite put our finger on about wearing a bikini on a sun drenched beach than tracksuit bottoms in front of the telly.
