Would you sell your wedding video on iTunes? Because that’s exactly what Kellie Pickler, the platinum-selling American country singer, did when she married singer-songwriter Kyle Jacobs. Pickler’s reps confirmed that footage of their ‘secret’ wedding on a ‘private Caribbean island’ is now available to view and download from iTunes and at the low, low price of £1.89.
Hmmm… now let’s see what happens when we rearrange these three words:
Strategy. Shameless. Marketing.
It turns out the couple were in the midst of planning a big Nashville knees up but Pickler had a change of heart and the couple decided to elope to Antigua to marry with just their minister in attendance.
“When two people get married, it’s not about the glamour,” Pickler told People.com. “It’s about the bride and groom and God.”
And those marketing masterminds at Sony Music Nashville. Right you are missy!
Maybe she was inspired by Katy Perry and Russell Brand’s decision to broadcast their ‘intimate’ wedding video at the Grammys?
But we won’t be too mean. We did warm to Pickler after we saw her ‘post-wedding’ hen party on The Ellen DeGeneres Show complete with hen party sash, tiara and totally ripped and totally gyrating male dancers. Fancy a similar stripper bash for your hen party? Redseven – the only name in hen and stag parties – does it best.
