Britain’s Best Bridesmaid 2020 Winner revealed. After a five month search, and hundreds of amazing stories, we’ve chosen our very worthy winner.
Firstly, can we say thank you to everyone who entered and for sharing your lovely stories and photos with us. We had some amazing finalists and we think every single one of you is fabulous!
But there can only be one winner, and this year it’s Sally Essex, who has been crowned Britain’s Best Bridesmaid 2020. Nominated by Emily O’Connor, we think Sally is the Ultimate Bridesmaid – she has been bridesmaid/maid of honour FIVE TIMES within twelve months, organising all of the associated incredible hen parties, bridesmaid dress fittings, wedding dress try ons & general girly nights & excitement.
Sally sadly lost her beloved father in 2019, after a twelve month battle with terminal cancer. Despite this personal sadness, Sally has continued to support her friends as they prepare for their big days.
Britain’s Best Bridesmaid 2020 Winner revealed. Emily tells her story, and explains why she felt Sally Essex was Britain’s Best Bridesmaid. And, we whole-heartedly agree. Sally, you totally rock! Well done from everyone here at Red7…..
“Sally Essex is my nomination for Britain’s Best Bridesmaid because I don’t think there is any woman alive who is more committed to her friends, and their happiness, than her. I have known her for over ten years since living together at University and she is my absolute soul sister in every way. Sal was my bridesmaid in October this year when I got married, she was also Maid of Honour for our friend Jess, and bridesmaid for her best childhood friend Millie in August.
She also said yes to being bridesmaid for two more of our friends, Steph and Anna who are getting married March and May 2020. None of this is easy given that geographically speaking, she is in Birmingham, I am in Durham, Jess is in Leeds, Millie is in London, Anna is in Chester and Steph is in Sheffield – but she literally never missed a single thing.
On June 15th 2019 her wonderful father with whom she was so so close passed away after a twelve month battle with terminal cancer. She is the most genuine, caring and loyal friend that anyone could imagine, and even when she was facing such tremendous grief, supporting her mum and her brother through this awful time, she was still so committed to all of her friends & brides, insisting that this was a helpful positive presence in her life. I cannot even begin to imagine how difficult it has been for Sal, but at every turn she has been smiling, excited and supportive of each of us in our pre-wedding buzz.
She did so much on the day from wrangling guests for photos, running with me between torrential rain showers covering me with an umbrella, throwing herself into ceilidh dancing with me and generally answering every ask, sometimes before i’d even said anything.
I cannot fathom how there would be anyone that deserves this prize more than her given everything and I would just love to be able to spoil her with a treat to say thank you for being an absolute one in a million.”
Not only does Sally claim the glory of being Britain’s Best Bridesmaid, she will also be treated to mini ‘BridesmaidMoon’ for two at a four or five star hotel at a UK destination of her choice. She’ll enjoy an afternoon tea with bubbles, the chance to relax and unwind in the hotel spa and then enjoy a wonderful three course dinner.
