Packing for a hen weekend can be a nightmare.

When you’re getting together with the girls for a weekend break in a new stylish city you want to look your best. If you’re meeting up with friends you haven’t seen in a while and you’re not sure what activities you’ll be trying out or what the weather will throw at you, the question of which  your outfits to pack into your carry-on can seem daunting.

Fear not: our guide to dressing for a hen weekend city break cleverly organises this seasons fashion trends into the essential hen activities to cover every fashion possibility.

Hen weekend activity: Travelling or energetic activities

Key trend:  Logomania

Whether you need some comfy loungewear for your flight or you’re taking part in some more energetic hen weekend activities like go karting or dance classes, Spring/Summer 14’s logo trend is perfect is idea for keeping you comfy and stylish. Logo t-shirts, sportswear and designer trainers are top of fashion’s to-do list this season and the bolder the better.

Hen weekend activity: Shopping and sightseeing

Key trends: Flat footwear, boho, city safari

Finally fashion has given us the tools to endlessly trek the high street uninhibited by uncomfy footwear. Whether you go for a sophisticated brogue, a tasselled loafer, embellished sandals or SS14’s essential ‘flatform’ (flat shoes with a slight platform), you’re guaranteed to look on trend without worrying about making it back to your hotel room. Hens: go forth and shop! Wear this season’s flat shoes with boho-inspired loose fitting clothing (think Sienna Miller or Poppy Delevingne) or master the city safari trend with khaki and tropical prints to look like the picture of city break explorer.

Hen weekend activity: spa and pampering or relaxing poolside

Key trends: retro glamour, white, monochrome

If the hens are booked into a spa hotel or are lucky enough to be holidaying in a sunny European city destination, chances are you’ll need to invest in a chic bikini or some poolside cover ups. Go more glamour than beach bum for a sophisticated city break and take inspiration from retro starlets like Audrey Hepburn and Bridgette Bardot and invest in white, monochrome, colour blocking and geometric prints. Enormous shades are also a must this season.

Hen weekend activity: Dining out and partying until dawn

Key trends: Coordinates and suits, jumpsuits, long skirts, pleats, statement jewellery

Now to the part of hen weekend dressing that every girl worries about the most – picking a stylish city break outfit to take you from restaurant to club. Luckily in Spring/Summer 14, nightlife dressing has gone all grown up so you can choose a hen party outfit that will look good in Europe’s chic restaurants and trendy nightlife hangouts. Choosing a co ordinated top and trouser or skirt combination or a lengthening jumpsuit is a sure fire way to turn heads amongst the city’s cool crowd, as well as giving you less to cram into your suitcase. Keep cool with this season’s long skirt which falls somewhere between the ankle and the knee and top off the look with some body armour – necklaces are big, metallic and have something decidedly ‘Game of Thrones’ about them.
