A tourist board wants its workers to go the extra mile to put a smile on visitors’ faces.

‘Tenerife Nice People’ is the slogan employed  to ensure millions of holidaymakers who flock to the biggest island in the Canary’s each year keep coming back. The tourist chiefs’ campaign includes tips for Tenerife locals on how to be a ‘nicer person’ as well as urging them to impress tourists with their kindness and hospitality.

Tenerife already boasts year round sunshine  thanks to it’s sub tropical climate as well as being an affordable holiday destination for group holidays such as hen and stag weekends.

Here’s a few more reasons why  jetting off to Tenerife is a good idea.

Whether you want to party through the night in the the buzzing nightclubs of Playa de Las Americas, sip cocktails on stylish rooftop terraces in Santa Cruz or watch the game over a few pints in a friendly boozer, Tenerife has it all when it comes to nightlife. The island is a nightlife haven for hens and stags looking for a good time.

The scenery in Tenerife is as breathtaking as it is varied. Holidaymakers can sunbathe on a different pristine golden beach every day of the week, explore the dramatic volcanic landscape of the Tenerife mountains on foot, bike or even quad bike and take in the beautiful sights of the historic old town whilst shopping or people watching from a friendly local pavement cafe.

Marine wildlife

The Atlantic ocean surrounding the island is abundant with marine life such as dolphins, whales, turtles and multitudes of glittering fish. Make it a priority to explore the Tenerife marine life with a snorkelling or diving experience, or take a boat trip south of the island – this area of the Atlantic ocean is the largest breeding ground for bottle nosed dolphins in Europe.

Wining and dining

Tenerife cuisine is a delight for the most discerning foodie tastebuds. The food is predominantly Spanish, with excellent tapas and seafood fresh from the Atlantic. Oysters, crab, lobster, mussels and sea bream are all on the menu. It’s also worth taking a trip to Casa del Vino La Baranda, a beautifully rustic wine museum in a 17th century Canaria farm, to taste the local wines and dine in the authentic tapas restaurant.
