About Riga

Riga, Latvia’s capital, is set on the Baltic Sea at the mouth of the River Daugava. The biggest metropolis in the Baltics, Riga perfectly blends timeless tradition and cutting edge cool. Riga is an adventure for the taste buds too with amazing cuisine on offer, washed down with intriguing local beers in the brew pubs along hipster strip Miera iela, or sample a cocktail with the mysterious Riga Black Balsam in fun-filled bars across town.

Riga’s Central Market is one of Europe’s biggest markets. It is famed for its pavilions housed in giant zeppelin hangars left behind by the German army after World War I. Riga has one of the world’s greatest galleries of this joyful style. Alberta iela is a street almost entirely created by Art Nouveau genius Mikhail.

Riga stands out because of its snowy climes, so jump aboard a bobsleigh or a snowmobile for something different to remember.

It's considered a cultural center and is home to many museums and concert halls. The city is also known for its wooden buildings, art nouveau architecture and medieval Old Town. The pedestrian-only Old Town has many shops and restaurants and is home to busy Livu Square, with bars and nightclubs. Try our guided bar crawl followed by a Riga-style hen party at one of the fun nightspots in the city for a truly memorable hen party weekend.
