BBC Studio Tour Group Experience

The BBC is world renowned for brilliant radio and television productions, but we seldom see all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes that goes into making them. Fortunately, BBC studios up and down the country are open for you to tour and to find out how things work, giving you a great opportunity to satisfy your curiosity.

Your tour will last about two hours and you'll be taken round by a guide who will explain what you are seeing in an interesting and entertaining way that will keep you enthralled the whole time. They'll explain the process that takes your favourite programmes from the scriptwriters' drafts right up to when it airs. You'll see some of the latest in broadcasting technology and be amazed at just what it can do. And your guide will let you in on the secrets of how things were done in the past, so you can compare days gone by with the present.

But the tour is not all just watching and listening. You'll get to put together your very own radio play, complete with sound effects and background music. And have you ever wondered what it would be like to present the news or the weather? Well, now you can find out. You'll find that keeping up with the autocue and finding the right place on the weather map aren't quite as simple as the professionals make it look, but you'll have plenty of fun trying and with our expert coaching you should be able to get by.

Here's your chance to get answers to all those burning questions you've been longing to ask and to get an understanding of the inner workings of the BBC. Interesting, informative and a whole lot of fun, this is a tour that anyone who has listened to the radio or watched television simply can't afford to miss. And don't worry if some in your group have toured the BBC before because, as the studios are working buildings, no two tours are the ever same so there's always something new.
