Before you’ve even cracked open your second bottle of in-flight wine, you’ll be on your descent into Charles de Gaulle airport, or pulling up at the Gare du Nord. Then it’s a question of what to do next? If it’s shopping, then your day begins on the Right Bank, home to Paris’ trendiest boutiques. You could also take in the sights – the Musee du Louvre, Tour Eiffel, Centre Georges Pompidou and the Notre Dame to name just a few. All of our Paris Hen Weekends are included in our Hen brochure. Airports:
Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport is 14 miles North East of central Paris. Alternatively Paris Orly Airport is 9 miles South of central Paris. Apart from the national carriers, many low cost airlines now fly into Paris direct.
Trains:
Another great way to arrive in Paris, and at the very heart of Paris too, is by Eurostar which departs from Waterloo or Ashford stations.
Visa Requirements:
None for the holders of a full British passport.
Journey Time:
Flight: approximately 1 hour
Eurostar: approximately 2.5 hours from Waterloo.
The best way to discover Paris is on foot. If that gets too tiring, the Metro underground system is widespread and efficient, and the overground RER system is also recommendable. Daily and weekly passes are available from all kiosks and stations. Try and avoid the bus network, it’s inefficient and not worth the hassle.
