All airlines fly into Budapest Ferihegy Airport, which is 10 miles from the city centre. The national carriers have dominated the flights for a long time, but now low cost airlines have begun to start direct services from all around the U.K.

Getting AroundBy far and away the best method of getting around Budapest is by the local public transport. It may not be the most modern of services, but it is cheap and very frequent, with a choice of Metro, trains, trams and buses. All the services link in with each other, with tickets widely available at main transport points and general kiosks.
