Top 5 Things To Do in Birmingham
Birmingham gets a bad rap mostly due to the fact that it has to compete with it’s prominent northern neighbours, Manchester and Liverpool. However, it is unfair that the city is poorly judged; it has a lot to offer than it is given credit for.
When it comes to Birmingham stag weekends, there’s lots to see and one of the top venues in the UK is worth visiting the city for alone, which is where we begin;
The Custard Factory
The clue of its origins are all in the name; this is where custard was invented! Today though, it’s a centre for arts and media with a club, independent shops, galleries, offices, studios, restaurants and bars. The Factory Club is what you’ll be most interested in though and it’s worth taking a look at what’s on as they regularly book A-list DJ’s such as DJ Yoda, DJ Shadow and Annie Mac. The venue has a capacity of 1000 however, it’s not limited to this as there is also sub-rooms the Old Library, Space2 and a swimming pool which when drained out, increases the capacity to 1,800 people and makes it one of the most unique clubbing experiences in the UK.
Balti Triangle – Enjoy a curry
A multicultural city, Birmingham is thought to be the birthplace of the Balti curry so there’s really very few better cities in the UK to tuck into a top notch curry. The Balti Triangle contains over 50 Balti houses including the oldest in Britain! The best time to visit is in the evening when the area is buzzing with atmosphere. Sit back with a beer and a delicious tongue sizzling curry; the perfect cure for a post stag do session!
Fierce Festival
Held every Spring, Fierce Festival is Birmingham’s biggest live art and performance festival. It showcases an exciting and innovative cocktail of art installations, performances, gigs, workshops, parties, some of which are performed and displayed in unique spaces throughout the city.
Brindley Place
A canal side area with a buzzing bar scene, live music, a gallery and Sea life centre, cafe’s and restaurants there’s plenty to visit for. Possibly the most enjoyable experience in this area is simply sitting by the canal with a pint where you can soak up the atmosphere.
Broad Street
No stag do is complete without a decent night out and this is the area to head to. With over 40 restaurants, bars, clubs, casinos and strip clubs, you can begin and end the night here. From 70s nights to rock nights to comedy, you’ll find what you’re looking for.
