Airports:
Amsterdam is just 9 miles from Schiphol Airport. Apart from the national carriers, many low cost airlines now fly into Amsterdam direct.

It is also possible to get to Amsterdam by coach and via rail (Eurostar to Brussels and then change for an inter-city train to Amsterdam)
Visa:
None for the holders of a full British passport. Passports must be valid for 3 months after the date of return.
Amsterdam is best discovered on foot. It’s very much a compact city. For venturing further afield, there's an efficient public transport system which covers most the city. Most trams depart from the Centraal Station. Tickets can be interchanged between all the different city transport methods.
